As a proud autism mama, I often found that traditional therapies are rigid and lack the spectrum of possibilities to positively support neurodiverse individuals. After Niko suffered through a traumatic experience, I found myself burning out physically, emotionally, and mentally as I sought ways to help him heal. No parent should feel the helplessness that I felt facing wall after wall barricading the road to his healing. Yoga & Reiki have been a part of my life for years, but leaning on them during that time was life changing. I decided to try an alternative approach for Niko too. He began chiropractic treatment, frequency/sound healing, reiki, and I began to see my happy little man return!

 

The gap between proactive wellness services vs. reactive services became obvious. Divine synergy led to an epiphany moment. I realized building resilience and promoting wellness can be attained if approached in pieces, like a puzzle (Cue Celestial Music). The puzzle piece is a well-known symbol associated with autism and can be interpreted as something that is "missing”. However, I advocate that much like Niko, this symbolism has been misunderstood. At Celestial Oasis, the pieces come together creating a beautiful picture!
